Hi! I've been a member for awhile now. Do more reading than anything else. My request is for information (WEBSITES)for an area running from Kino Nuevo along the coast to Papa Fernandez. My reasons for this could be construed as henpecked, worrywort etc. My wife is leary of living on the Pacific coast (Tsunami). So I got her to compromise on tyhe Sea of Cortez. I would like to be approximately 4 to 5 hours from a VA facility (Disabled Vet). We are getting close to retirement age and don't know as of yet to Snowbird or to just move. We are concentrating on Baja because our sons live on the West coast of U.S. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank yoy in advance.
I would strongly suggest that you take some time and spend about a week in that area looking at/for things that you think you will need, or things that you like to do...places to eat, shopping (food and other essentials), utilities....and most important....costs and types of living quarters. Also time the drive to the nearest VA facility. You may want to look at another site at some posts by "desertdigger who moved back up north....he is a vet and needed to be near VA medical facilities. Myself, I like the Pacific side, between the border and Ensenada.....close to the military bases in San Diego (I'm retired Army)...if your wife is afraid of a Tsunami buy off the coast in the hills overlooking the ocean.
