My wife and I are 2 weeks away from leaving Colorado and heading for Mulege. Since retiring in Dec. 2005, we have not had health insurance coverage. My question is can we get Mexican health insurance on the Baja?

According to the book "Choose Mexico", North Americans living in Mexico can purchase health insurance thru the national health system for about $300 per year. It says that "twice a year there are open enrollment periods".
I am also from Colorado and my wife and I are exploring retirement in Mexico/Baja, although it is at lease several years away for us. I would be interested in hearing about your experiences in moving to Mexico.
