Hello Everyone,

My husband and I will be in Ensendia 4-11 & 12. There was a write-up about a fairly new restaurant (gourmet, fine dining) in one of the wine magazines that I lost. Would anyone happen to know which restaurant. Also is
Punta Morro Resort a quality place along with very good food to celebrate one's 30th anniversary? We don't seem like we've been married this long and in fact we're still young. We would like to sit by the pool the 12th and enjoy a few margueritas. How about snorkelling - is it too chilly in April? Is it relative warm (pool wise) at this time? I've printed out a map of all the wineries. What about visiting the tequilla factory? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao,

Punta Morro is nice, but it's just north of town. If you want to stay at romatic spots outside town you can also try Las Rosas and Coral Hotel & Marina. None of these have a beach but they do have pools. The weather should eb warm enough to swim.

As far as the restaurant, it's hard to say which one you are talking about but here's three nice ones it could be (there are many):

El Rey Sol
La Embotelladora Vieja
La Vendimia

Have fun,
Ted

I have been visiting Ensenada since 1960. Whenever I want to have a nice place to stay that is quiet and beautiful I go to Punta Morro. In 1969 many of my friends went to Granda cove which is just below Punta Morro. This place is old with little rooms - Punta Morro is new, modern, but still has and old Mexican charm. Did I say quiet? Away from the road, open the screen door and fall asleep to the sound of waves breaking on rocks.
Punta Morro is a little difficult to get to as you have to take a right turn and drive around the college on the point. When you get there you will be thrilled. It is away from the highway, unlike Las Rosas, and small, unlike Hotel Coral. I remember the article about the restaurant you have mentioned. It is a circular restaurant with most of it hanging over the rocks and waves below. Beautiful spot - I've seen many very well dressed people in there enjoying a first class dining experience. I saw what appeared to be some wealthy locals in there which obviously gives it a stamp of approval. I saw a young couple recently married (they hold weddings there) have a wonderful dinner. I went in with t-shirt and sandals for a drink as I have a few older restaurnants in town I like to frequent. They treated me wonderfully - For a romantic evening this place can not be beat - Snorkeling - no way - cold, rocks on the beach heavy surge - As far as I'm concerned there is no place better - A few of my friends love Las Rosas, but very hard to get in as they are often full. The rooms are wonderful, April may be a little chilly and they have fireplaces (electric) - We often have a drink hang out at the pool,(oh yeah the pool is great and with a separate jacuzzi.-) which is surrounded by acrylic panes to keep the wind off.
Have fun -
