Hey amigos, In July I am driving down to Los Cabos from southern California. Recently I have been reading some magazines that deal with fishing and have read of several assaults and robberys off the roads near Ensenada. I have been traveling out to los Cabos by vehicle for the past 10 years and have had good experiences. Should I be concerned at all? Anything new I should know about the roads? I always try to cross the border at night and make to San Quintin where I catch some rest.
I have been following these disturbing events very closely and as Pstreet1 said each of these incidents have happened at night, often in the early morning hours. I have not heard of a single event involving tourists since last October. The military has been brought in and patrols throughout the area has been significantly increased. It appears to be working. I too will be driving down later this month and I feel pretty comfortable again though I will be crossing during daylight hours rather than the early morning crossings I have always done in the past.
