I plan on going on a 4 day weekend with my wife. I know we cannot go very far in 4 days so would you recomend we drive to San Felipe or San Quintin? I have been to San Felipe but never to San Quintin.

It all depends on what you want to do. I've not been to San Felipe, but San Quintin is a great place. You should go and check it out, alot of things to see and do. If you fish it's a great place. Try the steamed crab claws for dinner at Don Eddies. The beach below Hotel La Pinta is great. It's not a tourist town but that is good too.

Well, the Pacific is cold compared to the Gulf of California. San Felipe will be very WARM and the sea will be very WARM (day and night). You have been to San Felipe, so no extra info. needed.

San Quintin has two sides... the bay (Old Mill, Don Eddie's) and the south beach (Cielito Lindo, Gypsy's, La Pinta Hotel, Pabellon).

The bay would appeal to boaters/fishermen. The south beach would appeal to beach goers (all sand), surf fishermen, ATVers, shell collectors. Horses for rent at Cielito Lindo.
San Quintin Sportfishing operates out of Gypsy's, and launches into the bay.
