Can anyone help me out? I live in North San Diego area and would like to purchase a Ponga. I was told that Ensenada has good deals. I can't see to find anyone in all the directories for Ensenada. I need to just start with a few phone numbers. I'll take it from there...........muchas gracias amigo's
First of all...it's a PANGA - if you go to either Ciudad Constitution or La Paz you can find pangas that have been re-glassed, zolatone inside and generaly re-manufactured..not sure of current prices as I bough mine many years ago in La Paz -
The road out of Ensenada to the wine valleys, there is a Panga dealer on the right side of the road. I talked to a guy there and for a complete Panga with bait locker it was $8000 new. This was a few years ago, but worth the trip down to check it out. Good lcuk!!!
The guy you are looking for is Scott Oswald. He represents Amato....the panga manufacturer in Ensenada on the way out of town....his telephone number is: 858-581-6486 Amato has a website where you can look at his boats and Scott will email you all kinds of pictures of boats under construction etc. You can make an appointment to visit the "factory." The boats are finished off better than they used to be but still are not finished off like a Boston Whaler or any other US made boat for that matter. Scott seems to be a pretty good fellow. I was quoted $5851.00 for a new boat built the way I wanted it...without power, trailer and rigging...
