we're planning a kayak trip in bahia de los angeles and understand that we need permits to camp on the islands off the coast.

how do we get these, and where? is this something we can or should do before we leave?

as much info as possible would be great, as i'm planning this from a ways away.. in boston!

Gretchen - you might try E-mailing Doc at Camp Gecke, on his site (LA Bay) he mentions the permits $20 ??? but says nothing no where to get them. They rent kayaks and should know.

Found this in a thread on the Amigos board.

"Permits are available at the Ejido office in town, across from the yellow store. 20 pesos/person per day."

In the town of BdLA. I think the yellow store has a new internet cafe or at least net access.
