Hello, I am retiring from the Fire Dept in two years.I would like to relocate to La Paz. I have a state license in the air conditioning trade. What say the group on my chances of employment.I have 20+ years of experience in keeping people cool. Thank you in advance for any and all comments, questions, or concerns. I look forward to your replies. A/C Repair Smile

Depends on whether you're a Mexican national. It can be hard to get permission to work if you're not.

You can own and run the company, but you must hire Mexicans to do the physical work

There is little mis-information here. You can work for a company and do the physical work.
You can also own a company (you do however, need to hire at least one local).
You will need to get a work permit and that is very easy. I would suggest hiring a lawyer to get this done for you. Usually it will cost a few hundred dollars or less.
Just remember, if you are going to get a "job" wages are not what you are use to.

The best best would to set up your own shop in La Paz and possibly cater to the English speaking community. Speaking as a gringo "we need out A/C"!

Good luck on your endeavor.
G.
