That sounds great I will surely check out La Perla del Mar. I have also heard a little bit about a place or community called El Dorado Ranch? Do you know much about that place? How long it has been around, its reputation, etc.?

We took a look at La Ventana/El Sargento - loved it straight away, bought land, built a house and moved here forever. It's a great wind-surfing and kite boarding spot because the wind is just right and reliable from November to March. Sport fishing is big here, scuba diving and kayaking. rev

Califarch, How does one fly into Todos Santos ("TS"). If I remember it right, isn't TS on the pacific side of the Baja, southwest of La Paz about 50 miles away by car? When I was at the La Paz airport this summer, I remember reading the posted taxi fares as about $250 USD to get to TS from La Paz. If you take the bus, you have to pay $27 to get to the La Paz bus station from the airport, then pay for the bus trip to TS, all the while dragging your stuff with you (not great if you have kids). If you rent a car, that will cost you $60 USD per day for the duration of your stay... money not well spent if you if you already have a car at your house in TS. Also, the car at the TS house doesn't help your transportation requirement from the airport. My whole point in writing about this is "How practical is it to have a place in Baja if it is far from an airport?" If you drive from San Diego to TS, that's about a 2-1/2 day drive one way which means that you will have to pay for two nights at a hotel. The cost of gas plus car insurance, plus hotel equals or exceeds the cost of airfare, not to mention burning up 5 days for travel. If it was your policy to drive from the US, how often would you want to do the drive it per year? If you are a working stiff like those of us in the "normal world", driving won't work. Please tell me the best and most practical way to get to a house that you own in TS. Thanks.
