Hey everyone! I am interested in buying some property or a home somewhere in Baja. I don't know all that much about Baja and was wondering if I could get some advice regarding: the most popular spots, retirement spots, safety, pricing? Any information would be a help! thanks so much.

Try South Beach San Felipe... It has some of the most magnificent beaches in all of Baja. La Perla del Mar is worth a visit. It is a small beachfront community with all the amenities necessary to live a comfortable lifestyle. This private paradise is waiting for you...www.laperladelmarsf.com

That sounds great I will surely check out La Perla del Mar. I have also heard a little bit about a place or community called El Dorado Ranch? Do you know much about that place? How long it has been around, its reputation, etc.?

La Perla del Mar is one-of-a-kind...If you want to live in a place that is unique, peaceful, and beachfront then you must visit La Perla. You can reach us through our website www.laperladelmarsf.com, or email us directly at laperladelmarsf@gmail.com. You won't be disappointed.

The only thing I can say about El Dorado is that they have a high rate of re-sale, and as of yet we have none. Our furthest lot is 700 ft from the beach and starts at $99,000.

We took a look at La Ventana/El Sargento - loved it straight away, bought land, built a house and moved here forever. It's a great wind-surfing and kite boarding spot because the wind is just right and reliable from November to March. Sport fishing is big here, scuba diving and kayaking.

Hi, We too love the Gulf side but find that property there would be unusable too many months out of the year due to the extreme heat and humidity. So... we ended up buying on the Pacific side 6 years ago and have never regretted it! We live in Costa Brava at K 168 below Ensenada. It's a great community of Mexican and ex-pats on a beautiful beach - no cliff tops here! Check out our community website: www.costabravabaja.com

I have six residential lots for sale in Loreto. See my website at: www.Baja-Lots.com

Things to consider when buying a home in the Baja.
#1 Buy close to an airport. Taxi from La Paz airport to Todos Santos is $250 USD, to downtown La Paz is $27 USD. Not cheap.
#2 Be close to a major town for medical attention, food, supplies, goods, professional and blue collar services. Unsafe and/or giant pain in the neck otherwise, especially for electrical or construction type repairs.
#3 Buy a house close to other permanent residents for security purposes. A good neighbor and being in a residential area populated with permanent residents will be multiples more secure than a property that is 1,000 feet away or more from the nearest neighbor.
#4 Buy property that has city services such as underground sewer and water, trash pickup, above ground telephone and electricity. Otherwise you have to have water shipped to you and you will need a septic tank. Internet, paved streets and sidewalks would be nice.
