Just wondering if anyone on this forum have bought tires from Costco in Ensenada or Cabo? I'll probably be needing new tires for my Dodge truck while I'm down there and was wondering if anyone out there has an price comparisons on Michelin's or BF Goodrich LT265/70R17/E. Gracias
Pablo, I had all kinds of tire problems with my 5th wheel on last season's trip, buying two different tires from two different sources, one in Ensenada. Both were substandard quality and different sizes, and overpriced. Ended up buying an entire new set when I got back to Yuma. I have to preface that I did not check out Costco's prices... just WallyWorld's and an independent dealer in Ensenada.
As most things have now ended up in Mexico, there just isn't any more bargains down there. I recommend you get your tires in the States before you cross the border. Happy trails.
Thanks for the info. The only place I'd buy a tire (if I have a choice) from in Mexico would be Costco, because of their customer service. The Mexico Costco website has all the US and Cdn. brand tires but they do not advertise their prices. I emailed them (in Spanish)and asked how much the Michelin ATX2's were, they are not authorized to give prices online. Methinks Costco Mexico does not want to upset Costco USA pricing. You're right about the local tire shops, their product line is suspect.
Estimado socio,
No estamos autorizados para dar precios, le invito a que visite alguna de nuestras tiendas, este fin de semana del 24 al 26 de septiembre tendremos 12 meses sin intereses en toda la tienda!
A friend of mine just bought tires at Costco in Cabo San Lucas. He told me the prices were very close to U.S. prices. BUT, if you already know that you are going to need tires, buy them before you leave. You do not want tire problems, of any kind, on a nice vacation.
Hola Pablo we always buy our Mexico truck tires from the Cosco in Cabo. Prices are identical to the Cosco here in Vancouver. The service is good there too...
Thanks Iain ...I would have thought that tire prices at the Cabo Costco would have been cheaper. I think I'll pick them up in Oregon on the way down...the Michelins are about $40 less there than the Costco in Vancouver BC.
