I have plans to drive from San Diego to San Ignacio in mid March, 2003. First, has anyone completed this drive and if so, is it an OK venture e.g. safe, reasonable access to gas, stores along the way? Also I'm looking for some referrals to whale watching excursions out of San Ignacio. Please respond to Marcrhod@aol.com

Hope this note is not too late. We are driving to San Ignacio for whale watching Mar 22nd. We (three vehicles) will meet in SND on Friday evening. San Ignacio is our favorite whale destination. You are more than welcome to join us. It will be a week trip - San Ignacio, San Juanico, Muleje, San Francisquito, Bahia de los Angeles, San Quentin and end at the wineries in the Guadalupe Valley. This is a great introductory drive to Baja. Let us know if your interested FYI, we are not a tour company and everyone pays as we go - we just enjoy sharing our adventures. Hope to hear from you,
