I have stayed at Santispac and Escondido but it was before the current round of hurricanes. How are the beaches now? Also how is Villa Maria's and Jungla Jims. Is the market on the lighthoes road open? Name escapes me.... Thanks for any and all information. Hope to be traveling soon.

All's well, unless they get slammed again. We left there mid-May, Santispac was open, only a few palapas, but camping allowed, and Anna's up and running. Escondido got whacked bigtime by the hurricane, but during the winter they re-graded the road so even a light RV or small trailer can make it in now...was almost 4x4 to begin with. Most of the old palapas there are shambles, but the road's much better in. Los Cocos had completely rebuilt all their palapas and was the 'happening place'. Villa Maria's is open, most (if not all) spaces functioning by end of last season. La Jungla is lo mismo, took water to the roof but Bart floats. Half of riverfront properties still in shambles, but rebuilding. Is Saul's the market you're thinking of? Up and doing fine, despite 4'-5' of water in it. Town took a big hit but the community effort is commendable. Keep a close eye on all of your belongings when you get there though.
