Hola,

I bought some property in Las Tunas outside of Todos Santos. I'm trying to get a feel for the cost of construction. My builder said this:
EL PRECIO DE CONSTRUCCION QUE ESTOY DANDO DE PENDE DE LOS METROS CUADRADOS, POR EJEMPLO 60 M2 LO TENGO A 8,000 PESOS, Y DE 100 M2 EN ADELANTE CUESTA 7,000, PESOS, TERMINADOS ESTE, PRECIO, ESTA SUJETOS ACAMBIO, SIN PREVIO AVISO....GRACIAS Y SALUDOS.. I'm trying to find out what a 2600 sq foot home would cost. Anyone know what he's telling me? Thx.

Here you go: The price of construction depends on the square meters. For example I charge 8,000 Pesos for up to 60 square meters. For 100 square meters and up I charge 7,000 Pesos. This price is subject to change without notice. Thank you and greetings.

(a note from another friend says to only do business with someone who speaks your language)

Thank you, how does that translate to price per square foot??? How many square feet in a square meter perhaps?

100 sq. meters is 1,076.4 sq. feet

60 sq. meters is 645.84 sq. feet

The formula is Sq. meters X 10.764= sq. feet.

Drop me an email and I would be happy to let you know where to get more details: info *at* vivabaja.com (put 'Baja' in the subject line)

The cost per square meter is important but be sure to understand ahead of time what is included in the square meter calculation. For example, our builder included the patios, the garden, and the courtyard. Not that they were trying to cheat us but just a different approach than we are used to in el Norte.
