South of Ensenada the highway is closed... many bridges are damaged or gone. Just saw a YouTube of the San Vicente bridge washed away. Santo Domingo river bridge (in Colonia Guerrero) and the bridge over Arroyo El Rosario also damaged or gone.

Baja Cactus owner Antonio has posted that as of today, 1-25-09, detours and tractors are getting cars and trucks through as the water level has been dropping. NO NEW TRAFFIC IS COMING THRU MULEGE AS OF LAST NIGHT . I GO INTO TOWN AND I WAS ASKING AND NOTHING FROM THE NORTH YET .BUT THAT MAY MEAN I HAVENT TALKED TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE . I CAME DOWN IN 1996 AND I DROVE ALONG THE RIO AND FOUND A PLACE TO DRIVE THRU WAS MUD AND ALL BUT A 4 WHEEL CAN DO SOME INTERESTING THINGS . SAW HEAVY GEAR GOING NORTH .
Highway was opened last night and travelers are posting (on the other Baja forums) that they have arrived north from Loreto. Baja Cactus (El Rosario) owner said the Pemex truck arrived last night from Ensenada to add fuel to their tanks.
Just meet a couple from Canada . .They have a 4 wheel drive van .Water was wheel high. Tractors pulling some accross. This was at noon Mulege mt. they said water was waist high on them . so 4 x4 s make thru for sure.
