Hi Folks,
I just found this site while doing a little research. My wife and I have wintered in Mexico the last three years. We have been a lot of places, except for the very south and Baja. The furthest we have been into Baja is Algodones. I had always thought that there were a ton of Californians in Baja. But, from what I am seeing, Baja may have places even more remote than the mainland! I have e-mailed the Mexican consulate(s) three times with this question. They are not forthcoming and I need an immediate answer. We have a 40' diesel pusher motorhome and tow a Suzuki XR-7. I have wanted to take my ATV into Mexico since we first went to Mexico. There are so many places to explore, etc. If I can bring the ATV into Mexico I will purchase a pick-up truck to replace the Suzuki. That will enable me to haul the ATV in the bed of the pick-up. I need to know if I can bring the motorhome, a pick-up, and an ATV into Mexico with only two people. Will I need Mexican insurance on the ATV. I have the owners card and title to the ATV. It is licensed in PA for travel in special areas, but of course, not for the road. I can easily take the plate off. Can any KNOWLEDGEABLE person tell me for sure where I am in this situation. We intend to leave NW PA on 12/03, so if I have to get moving if I am going to trade my vehicle. Thanks so very much! Sincerely, Dave G |

David,
I can't believe I got such a nice reply so quickly. Your Web-site is wonderful. Of course I know about the Baja race and have for many years. I am really into cars and am building a '46 Ford coupe w/a418 stroker into a 50's style hot rod as we speak. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your information. Thank you so much. I am somewhat handicapped, (very bad back, arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.), that is why we go to a warm climate in the wintertime. I still get around fairly well, I push myself very hard. We love the beach first, but we are open to any kind of exploring. I especially love finding special "rocks" (virgin rockhound) and running my metal detector. If there is anything "out of the ordinary" that you can recommend, please do not hesitate to let us know. I forgot, any kind of fishing is an especially high prioity also. Do you recommend anything specific? Thanks so much, Dave Green |
