We will be moving into a condo south of Rosarito and the developer has said something like, you can bring your own dish, we will put it on the roof. What options are available?

Please explain "options"

Options? Direct TV or Dish Network but I have been told that I need to some how acquire these in the US, sign up for the service, then take everything into Mex and the developer will install the dish on the condo roof, the condo is wired from there. Are there any other ways to get service?

You (must) have a "instalation" address in the U.S.because of International law. Even though the SIGNAL can be received across the border, Directv will cut off service once they find out you are across the international border.You might even SHARE with someone else in the U.S. by taking one of their EXTRA receivers and sharing the costs. You will only need to purchase a dish and the LNB to have service.

Additionally, the "pre-wired" condo wiring (cable) may not be compatable with satelite systems, especially if they have installed "splitters" for different rooms.

Which condo complex south of Rosarito? Perhaps if we knew which one, we could be of more help. I know details about our complex, and I know people in other complexes.
