I'm a semi-retired builder who wants to relocate to Baja (preferably the San Felipe/Puertocitos area) and is looking for a live/work opportunity. I've been visiting the area several times a year for over 20 years, and am ready to make a more permanent move. I just need a small income and/or a free living arrangment to make it possible.

I'm experienced in all phases of construction and am interested in any related work including property maintenance, security or repairs in exchange for a place to park my trailer plus wages.

I understand all the legal issues of permits, etc, and am willing and able to start that process if I know I have opportunities.

Please spread the word, or contact me if you have any interest, or suggestions on how to get the word out.

I'm not so sure you really understand all the legal issues. The first problem I can see is that in order to get an FM-3, you have to demonstrate that you have specified minimum monthly income to live on. It's around $1,500 per month, depending upon whether you rent or own property and your dependents. So, when you say, "I just need a small income and/or a free living arrangment to make it possible", you disqualify yourself. The second issue is that it is extremely difficult to get an FM-3 with a right to work, if the work you do takes away a job from a Mexican. Construction is considered work for a Mexican.
