Does anyone know how and what to do to transport a double wide mobile home from San Diego to points south, specifically Bahia de los Angeles? Thank you, Mary
That's going to cost you, one way or another... (transportation and or Mexican Customs). Check with "Ma" Williams (look it up on the internet). He has several mobile home dealerships in Southern California, and also, I believe, one in the Rosarito area, or maybe one of the trucking companies that offer cross border moving (advertises in the Gringo Gazette). Are you cleared to put mobiles on the property, and have you checked on the other requirements, such as permits and utilities???
Thank you so much for your information. I will look up the sites you gave me on the internet. I am just in the preliminary stage of gathering information. Thanks again, Mary
Dear Teniente, I emailed Ma Williams and await a reply. You asked whether I had checked on permits and the answer is: I am trying but not having much success on finding any info for permits. Any ideas? Thanks again, Mary
Depending on where you want to locate the mobile, check with the city/village offices or the county. You also might want to check with a reliable local contractor.
At one time we looked into moving a mobile, but after checking it out, decided to have a house built....was about the same cost, and no headaches
Bajamary - I don't know if you ever got a hold of someone at Ma Williams MH, but I do know for a fact that they have transported homes into Mexico - I believe along the Eastern Cape. I am a manufactured home dealer in Southern Orange County, California, and I've been looking into this for some time. We also own a transport company, but are not authorized to go into Mexico. I haven't gotten as far as determining what it will take, but I know from the Cavco factory (Ma Williams sells Cavco homes) that they have placed units in Mexico, so they are about your only bet in terms of figuring this out. Good luck, and if you get info, please post it to the forum, or email to me at david.gibbs@homesofthewest.com. Thanks.
Hussong's had a development along the coast, between downtown Ensenada and the toll booths. They were selling Fleetwood MH's on foundations. He had to get them to Ensenada somehow.
