We are going to be travelling to Mexico in a couple of weeks and we ussually bring in a cooler of food but customs always takes some of our items. There has never been any rhyme or reason as to what they choose to take. Does anyone know if there is a website or any way that I can get concrete answers of what is allowed by law and what is not?
i live in t.j. when you go in to mexico go to the declair line have your recipt in hand since your not a resident you will have a -$50.00, it works like this your recipt is for $200.00 -$50.00 you pay 10% of $150.00 most of the time they don't look at the food there is no writen law as to what you can or cannot take over there , you just have to show it's not for resale. make sure you get your travel permit too. i do this every weekend at san yasidro they are for the most part pretty cool about it. if you can try to do it there there is a short guy with a scar on his upper lip he speaks good english and is vere helpful
