My faithful old Nissan Pathfinder is about to retire after 300,000 miles, many of them logged in Baja... And I'm considering scaling down a little bit. I still want to be able to make the trip to Guadalupe Canyon, one of the most heinous roads I've driven down there.

Considering the Rav4, the CR-V and either the Forester or the Outback by Subaru. Any opinions on whether any or all of these vehicles could negotiate that boulder-strewn sham of a road?

Gracias Amigos!

i own myself a 1992 jeep wrangler.
its the best car i've ever had (previous owner of a toyota pick-up and a chevy blazer).
i has not the commodities of other cars, but i can assure you that you will not have to worry about sand, rocks, mud or nothing else.
cheap on the fuel and very reliable. since most of its mechanics dont depend on electronics, you can use and abuse this car, and the next morning it will be ready for more.
have fun
