i have read different accounts of what is needed to cross the border for a weeks long trip...is a US passport sufficient? i read on this site that you ALSO need you birth cert. and some notarized proof of citizenship...this seems a bit much. any words of wisdom?? thanks, erin

a u.s. passport is good enough. for air travle or crossing at ports of entry. a u.s. i.d. (driver linecens,photo i.d.)works crossing at ports but you will! have problems at the airport good luck

a US passport is just fine, I cross that boarder twice a month and have never had to show more than my drivers license. But bring your passport just to be extra safe.
