I am thinking about spending some time on the Sea of Cortez side of BC...maybe the Loreto area...I was looking at Ensenada Blanca. Can anyone tell me where the best place is that has beaches for swimming and kayaking, etc that look like this:
I know this photo is in Loreto...is there water like this around Ensenada Blanca as well?

What about more north like near San Filipe. Any info is greatly appreciated! thanks...

Hilarie,
Go to this website, it has a lot of information about San Felipe.

I visited San Felipe last November, bought 2 lots to build in the future in El Dorado Ranch and ended up getting my real estate license in order to join the company.

Love the area. What I saw is the potential it has to become another Cabo San Lucas in some years. Meaning that if I bought now, I would be sitting in some real nice investment property for retirement or our growing kids. There are many developements (residential) In San Felipe but El Dorado Ranch and Ventana del Mar is the largest, most built, and best funded of all. In my reasoning, it will not try to con or take your money overnight.

San Felipe is closed to the US Border by car (2 hours) and can be your home base to explore towns like puertecito etc which is not very populated nor an easy drive.

Check it out and if you have more questions, let me know. I am there at least once a month on a weekend. When are you going?

My direct email is bajagak@comcast.net

The absoute nicest beaches in Baja are in the Cabo Pulmo are. It has better weateher as it is further south and it has the only living coral reef in North America on the Pacfic side.No disappoints.

I would recommend La Paz and take your kayaks to Balandra or you can go to Tecolote and have them take your kayaks (or rent kayaks from them) across to Isla Espirtu Santos.
