My good friend who has lived in Mulege for many yrs was scammed out of $2000 US yesterday.
Be careful. If some one calls you from the border saying they are being held and need money sent make sure you identify that person with questions only you and they would know the answer to. It has happened to 3 gringos in Mulege. My good friend Russ will tell you the story. His friend who sent the money got scammed for another $1000. This was all done by telephone as Russ does not use the computer. He just asked me to put the word out. Be very very careful and wise. I would of fell for it too..... Patti |

It happens everywhere.
I work at a senior senior in San Diego and one of the seniors got scammed the same way. A girl called her and said she was her grand daughter, Susan and needed some money fast but "please don't tell mom and dad". She sent the money. |
