The local TV station is planning to do a story on the damage done by Hurricane John in Mulege. I gave them the link to the International Community Foundation website but I am wondering if there is another way to make donations that is working better. If anyone has any information, please let me know. Is the local Rotary Club taking donations? How? Through Saul Davis? This is Barbara Evans, Chayo Evans' daughter. I live in the SF bay area. Chayo was in Temecula with my sister during the flood. She is planning to go back to Mulege next week.

Way to go Barbara. I've contacted the media in San Diego also, there has been absolutely no coverage of this heartbreaker nationally or locally.

If any of ya out there have blogs, maybe put a link on them for people to help out.

i.e. http://marjorieanndrake.blogspot.com/

Watch those roads & if your amigos that are headed down need a place to lay over, we're just 20 minutes from the border. Let us know. I have blankets and stuff ready to go.

Saludos.

Hello, I am Jenny Wright from the cuesta real in Mulege, i have been in contact with the flying sams, the bush pilots, and the aero medicos and i know for sure the sams are flying out of the LA area to mulege on saturday to take down medical supplies. I am here in ensenada and I have been interviewed by the local area chanel 23 Televisa twice and i have had a great ammount of people donating here form the local community as well as american communities in the area. Another GREAT contact is Kim Lujan and her e-mail address is k_nagazaki@hotmail.com
Also I now have a mailing address in Bonita, Ca set up to send things and also a bank account if money is what people want to donate. Our first trip down to mulege will be this saturday. I am really amazed at the out come and people keep calling. Watching the poorest of people here scrape together anything that they can to bring things is really really amazing and has really left an impact on my heart. I want to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! and God bless! Long live Mulege! Vive Mulege!

I just filled the last seat on two private planes into Mulege leaving tomorrow a.m. I'll be doing a complete assessment on the two schools hit by the flood, and will post here either tomorrow nite if there's net access, or Sunday evening when we get back.

There have been several offers for the schools, and once we know what is needed the Mulege Student Scholarship Program will help coordinating for those wanting to help get the schools back on line. Thanks for all the offers of support. The schools will be glad to take you up on it.

We are collecting goods in the; Sonora/Modesto, CA area; however, unable to drive/fly to Mulege at this time. Please advise staging area to off load goods to planes/trains/cars leaving for Mulege.

Received message from Hugo Martinez QUOTE: What we really need is help fumigating the town of Mulege. We have people with Dengue and it´s possible mosquito borne, so medicine here is very important. There is also all kind of meat in the mud that belongs maybe from frezeers that now have worms plus dead animals, the town is smelling really bad. We need the help of people that have houses here to come and work with us to clean this town. I´m sending you the link of our web site
www.bahiasdebaja.com/Huracan/John.asp
we also work in a NGO named Yo soy Mulege 100% mexicans. END QUOTE

Dropped an e-mail to World Health Organization asking for help. God Bless.
