Nothing, Chuck. Only rumors, blowing around just like the wind is today. Everybody knows everything, just ask them... except my friends, one of which is an Ejido officer. Offers, speculation, nothing more. So YES, it's sold to a greedy Americano/Japanese developer who's going to turn it all into a MEGA-RESORT/CASINO/GOLF COURSE WITH TABLE-DANCE BARS. There, it must be true or we couldn't print it, right? heeee.. bb.
Thas the way it goes eh?I'll most likely see you Thursday, we are bringing a boat up for work.1st day of tournament yesterday, great day on the pond...caught NADA yellows but some nice Cabrilla...Stay well
Mega resort? There's going to be a lot of vacancies in brand new resort just built on the bluff South of Sta Rosa, near St. Luciano creek. Quite a stupid choice of location, if you ask me. No waterfront and windy as hell. Perhaps in 15 or 20 years there might be enough demand to build another resort. Until then, the new owner of San Lucas camp(s) - that is, if there is a new owner - will have to put up with meager rents collected from Rvs.
When I first read this I wondered what in the world you were talking about with Mega Resort. The building you are referring to is the Technological College that was built on the cliff at St. Luciano Creek. You could probably get a room there but would have to pay a years tuition.
This is hilarious.... from my first post i thought it quite obvious the whole jist of the thing was tongue-in-cheek, and yes Jim, this IS how rumors get started. Oh, I love it.
OK, for those who are interested, there is a buyer for the San Lucas Ejido land, large quantities of it including the RV park. Deal IS NOT DONE yet, but surveying is taking place. The buyer has no name or face yet, 'rumors' are that all will stay the same here with possibly new management, maybe improvements, maybe not, maybe rent increase, maybe not. Once again, ALL JUST RUMORS NOW. And i love the bit about a year's tuition, well done. Once again, ....heeeeeeeeeee.....
Yep, this is how we get those rumors started College on the cliff does look like a resort. North of the border they are not that pompous. Location is still weird, for college too. Could've been tucked in behind those heaps of mining refuse inland.
As to the sale of areas around there - I don't expect major changes resulting from any sale, until the economics and market changes for the better. And it looks like it won't change for the next 4 or 5 years. Eventually we'll be forced out of the coastline with our wagons, it's a matter of time. There will be vacation homes creeping in slowly in and between Rv parks, as the world population increases. Plus, baby boomers are coming, though this wave has already reached its peak and will disappear in 10-12 years, and many of them lost their savings in recent crisis...
