I am leaving for Mulege in the morning (9-07-06). There has been many messages concerning the health and safety of friends and relatives. I will be there for a couple of days also trying to contact people I know. If you like please E-mail your requests for info on your love ones and I will make every attempt to deliver your messages. I will also upon my return get back with you via E-mail or phone.

I live in La Paz and was a long time residence of Mulege.

I had a house at 19 and 20 in Jorge's Park before Hurricane John. Please I would appreciate someone to some pictures of my place. I understand there is no roof and windows broken out and mud up to the height of the windows. Heartbroken as many of us we still love Mulege. We all have lost much but not as much as the family of our dear friend Peter Clark who was a close neighbor in Jorge's Park. Thank you.

Thank you so much for checking on people. If you come across John Garrison, please have him call Dwaine (541) 290-3500. You can also tell him Dwaine is on his way there, leaving Mesquite Arizona Thursday before noon.

9-10-06 Just heard from Dad (Dwaine Bickford). Dad arrived in Mulege at 8 AM Saturday, and found that he was relatively lucky, as he had had 5' of water in his house, but still has walls & a roof. He said he will wait until he's done working in Arizona to deal with the 8-10"mud in the house, after it dries out. He lost the trailer, but John got out OK.

John had been sleeping and then woke when he felt drops of water on his face. By the time he got up to check on the sound of running water, he found his shoes floating, so got out with his clothes and sat up on the highway with a neighbor. He's staying in someone's trailer south of Mulege now.

Just spoke to Saul Davis:
~ Government is doing a GREAT job per Saul; apparently the resources mobilized to rehab the resort towns in lowest Baja are mostly here thanks to John skipping the larger towns
~ electric is coming back so fast the locals are amazed
~ some of Saul's fridges fired back up, some didn't
~ officially he had 6" in the store
~ there are folks from LaPaz and elsewhere cleaning the schools (tho I still can't raise the Secudaria school by phone; probably a line still down)
~ cleanup will take weeks to get all the mud out
~ "Then we are ready to start over," which he said in all good cheer Big Grin
