THE HOTEL IS STILL ABANDONED. THE EJIDO WOULD LIKE TO SELL IT, BUT I THINK THEY WANT TOO MUCH FOR IT. THE GOING RATE FOR EJIDO OWNED LAND IN THAT AREA, LOMA AZUL, IS 200PESOS PER METER. THE LAST I HEARD, THEY WANTED 3 MILLION FOR THE HOTEL PROPERTY.UP UNTIL RECENTLY, THE PROPERTY HAD TWO LIENS AGAINST IT WHICH WAS A PROBLEM FOR COMPLETING A SALE. THEY SAY THEY HAVE CLEARED THAT UP.
I think that figure is way out of line, given the condition of the place last time I saw it.The liens, as I remember, were for unpaid employee taxes. I can't imagine they have been cleared. When Alex Arcos owned it, it was a going deal. Good food, fun owner, and a good clientele. After the big shootout, it went downhill fast. I had dinner with Sr. Arcos in San Francisco not long after that, and it was a laugh a minute, recounting stories...too bad...
