Dan & Lou, #16 Oasis:
Rafa Cuesta looked at the inside of the Airstream yesterday. The flooring is apparently quite warped, and the cabinet drawers are stuck shut (some at tleast maybe not all). The primary issue for usability will be subfloor ans wheter it will need to be replaced. Does he have your permission to cut the flooring open & peel it back to do an assessment? That would be my next step if it was my trailer, but I didn't want to tell him to do that w/out consulting you.
Thanks, Mike

Mike, you have our authorization to do what is necessary to see if the Airstream is eligible for donation. Including pulling up those floors. It had red oak (real) floors and I am sure they warped. What can we do to help? I hope it can be of use to the scholarship funds.
thanks, Lou and Dan Monk

Hi Babe,
Nothing new and exciting here. Hot again today and the power was off for a couple of hours in the trailer (really hot). They continue to make mistakes and time keeps dragging on.
It is OK if they want to take out the oak flooring in the airstream. It will be all warped and totally no good. The sub floor should be OK. It is a special particle board designed to handle getting wet. All of the inside walls are aluminum as well as the framing material, so that should be fine. I am pretty sure the generator is in the front center part of the trailer with the propane bottle; it would be OK to have a mechanic look at it. I have been trying to think, but I can't come up with any thing else of value. The door keys were in the little door just to the left (under the counter) as you went in the door. Kind of hate it that she had to go this way, but maybe it is good as I would have hated to part with her. Big Blue will be a good replacement and probably a lot more comfortable.
The money should transfer today. If you have any problems, give me a call. It don't matter what time it is. I am not sleeping all that well anyway. If Leon gets nervous, call and I will take care of it.
Love you and call me when you get up Hi Babe,

Jeeez! Mike, I am new at posting!! The Leon is referring to is not our Oasis Leon. Sorry about all the replies. Dan is on other side of Arabia and we are doing best we can to communicate...like you,he is engineer and trying to bring huge power plant online there..But I knew you needed his input on construction of the Airstream. Sorry about duplications. I try hard. Senior MINUTES. LOU

Lou- Will proceed accoringly, thanks. Didn't know there was a generator; that'll probably be a total teardown w/some replacement parts needed, but might be made to work.
BTW, the author can edit (and maybe delete?) a post using the icons at lower right of the posted text.

Mike, the Landgrafs (neighbors) had someone pressure wash and clean that generator..it will also be a donation. Dan got estimates on donations..sent to the Tusseys as I am still having a hard time with your personal email. Will try to wipe out Dan's long emails (SSSSS) at this time. Also a bike the Landgrafs had cleaned up; and there is a safe under dinette also. Key somewhere with fuzzy lamb attached. Should be waterproofed and maybe an addition to the donation. I just want to keep the hammock in storage house that i searched for so long. And Dan's fishing gear such as it now is. Also kayaks. Neighbors have been wonderful. thanks again and let me know if you need title to RV as well as some kind of donation / transfer letter. LOU

Mike I sent to Tusseys email address potential evaluation for donation of trailer Dan had found on internet. As I said earlier, the generator is a donation, I think the Landsgraf got it cleaned and working; the bicyles also, if the fridge outside and the freezer in storage house work, they are also donations..inside the trailer was a small Beverly Doolittle print screwed to kitchen wall and there was also a tiny postcard sized print of San Juan ferry on wall..if they survived I would like to keep them for sentimental reasons. Anything in upper cabinets can go to donations..in other words we are just gonna start over..nothing of real value there...Dan will keep his fishing gear for salvage and the kayaks plus my hammock. Lou- thanks for all. Yes we will need the title on the trailer & a letter authorizing the transfer. Don't know who the buyer will be and if they will care, but we'll need it for our records and to produce a tax receipt for you should you desire one. thanks again. Mike
