My wife, a few friends and I are looking at working up a kayak trip in the Concepcion area. Probably a 4-5 day trip. Any info you folks can offer on kayak rental availability, paddle routes, don't-miss-camping-spots, etc would be taken to heart.

We did a trip out of Bahia LA a few years ago and had a great time. The tough part was renting a vehicle and boats in San Diego and driving down. Fun but takes a chunk of time. So this time we thought about flying into Loreto and heading north to Concepcion. Can we bus it from Loreto to Mulege? Or is renting a car the only option?

Thanks for any advice you all can offer.

Buses head north out of Loreto 30 minutes to the hour stopping in Mulege. Sometimes you can get them to stop at Bahia Concepcion.

You can also get more info from "EcoMundo" at www.mulege.net/ecomundo.htm

and

"Cortez Explorers" at www.mulege.net/cortezexplorers.
All in all, I think the best bet is to go ahead and rent a car in Loreto since all the sights around Mulege/Bahia Concepcion are some distance from each other - a car is nice.

Thanks Dorado. I found Ecomundo's site soon after i posted above and asked them for info too.

Sounds like a car is best bet.

We are considering coming down in April. How does the weather then compare to November? We were in BdLA in November.

The weather is perfect in April. One Comment: Avoid the 1st. week before Easter and the week after Easter. Easter is one of the two most popular/traveled Holidays by Nationals. The beaches are PACKED as well as most accommodations.
